What others say

“A number of aspects particularly impressed me about the school.  We liked the fact that you took an individual interest in every pupil, knowing each one by name whilst acknowledging their efforts not just results.  We also liked the fact that the pupils came to your office for recognition of good work and not simply when behavioural issues might arise.

The sporting facilities particularly impressed us, as well as the timetable of rugby and football being divided up to maximise exposure to playing other schools.  The range of sports on offer suggested that the children would have the opportunity to explore and find out what they enjoyed.

The Music Department was a personal interest of mine.   All of my family were exposed to music from a very young age and ***** is no exception.  It was a joy to see that he would have ample opportunity to feel his way and find an instrument or two that he would enjoy playing.  I was also impressed with the coordination of other departments that would ensure he would have the chance to catch up on any missed work.  It was a joy to see and hear two children practising their guitars in a little room down a corridor, quite unassumingly playing away but with great coordination together.  The school’s investment in a Steinway piano was a treat to see.  I must confess to having to control quite an urge to lose half an hour playing it.

Academically, I was thrilled to see that Latin was being taught at Primary level.  I only learnt Latin at Secondary school but was so grateful for the advantage it game me in languages and anatomy much later on.

The school’s menu was varied and my wife and I were really pleased to see an emphasis placed on nutrition as well as table manners.  To know that **** would gradually be exposed to older members of the school to ease the transition from Acorns was reassuring.

The children we met throughout the day were all so polite, well mannered and respectful of everyone around them, yet they still had an obvious sense of fun.  It was so refreshing to be able to see children all letting off steam in long break, but all in a quietly respectful manner to those around them.  They really were a credit to the school.”
