Extra Socs for boarders

The first full week of the Spring term saw the launch of Wednesday Societies or Socs which have been introduced for the first this term as an addition to our regular programme of evening clubs which run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The idea behind Socs is that there will always be something fun, engaging (and educational) for the children to do and every week boarders will have the opportunity to choose to take part in a range of additional extra-curricular activities. New Director of Music

This term we are delighted to welcome Sarah Boutwood, our new Director of Music, to Packwood. Mrs Boutwood takes over a thriving department where all pupils have weekly class music lessons and through which nearly 200 of them learn musical instruments and also have the opportunity to participate in choirs, orchestras and instrumental ensembles. more...

Staff debate

On Thursday 20th January the children gathered in the school theatre to hear four members of staff eloquently debate the motion “This House believes that winning is more important than taking part”. It was an excellent debate that pitted Mr Weston and Mr Chambers against Mr Livermore and Mr Cowley. more...

Six of the best

No fewer than six talented Packwood hockey players have been chosen to join the county hockey squad. Charlotte Edwards and Fran Hughes will represent the county in the Under 14 age group and Ruby Lavender, Florence Wade-Smith, Holly Shaw and Evie Clutton have all been selected for the Under 13s. more...
