Charlotte's sporting success
2nd July, 2011
Charlotte E, who leaves this summer, has capped a glittering sporting career at Packwood by winning a sports scholarship to Millfield School.
The scholarship award comes at the end of an exceptional year for Charlotte who has excelled in a whole range of sports at school and at county, regional and national level.
She is not only captain of hockey at Packwood but also captain of the Under 14 Midlands hockey team and a member of the Under 15 county team. She represents Shropshire at netball , has captained the Under 15 county team and was a member of the Packwood lacrosse team which won the Midlands lacrosse tournament in February this year. Charlotte is an outstanding sprinter too. She has been Shropshire county champion at 100m and 200m and recently competed in the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) athletics championship and won the 100m final.
Head of PE, Mrs Parry, said “It is rare to come across someone like Charlotte who has such exceptional sporting talent. She is full of enthusiasm, energy and competitive spirit, always gives of her best and constantly strives to improve. Charlotte clearly derives enormous enjoyment from sport and thoroughly deserves all of her success. I don’t feel it’s unrealistic to predict that she will represent her country in at least one sport in years to come. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to teach her and all at Packwood wish her the very best of luck for the future.”
