2011 has been another outstanding year of scholarship success for children at Packwood. The final year pupils have amassed an impressive 22 awards to 14 prestigious, independent secondary schools across the country, including the top Academic Scholarship to Shrewsbury School which was awarded to Alfie Grocott.

Academic scholarships were also won to Rugby, Uppingham, Gordonstoun, Moreton Hall, and the top Academic Scholarship to Stowe was awarded to Milla Harvey-Scholes. Other scholarships were won for excellence in Sport, Music, Drama, Art and Information Technology. Fergus Connolly won the Wavell Wakefield Scholarship to Sedbergh, a special award, made at the Headmaster’s discretion, to an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership potential.  Fergus has excelled himself as sportsman, scholar, musician, actor and as a monitor at Packwood and is undoubtedly a worthy recipient.

Packwood headmaster, Nigel Westlake said “This is another tremendous set of results and I am delighted for the children who have consistently worked hard showing an admirable level of commitment and diligence. Our leavers this year are moving on to 21 different schools across the country, reinforcing Packwood’s reputation as a school with a national reach. We are proud of our 2011 leavers and are confident that they have successful and exciting futures ahead of them.”
