Top author visits Packwood

23rd May, 2011

Bestselling children’s author, Sita Brahmachari, came to Packwood last Friday to meet children in the 2s and 3s and to talk to them about her debut novel “Artichoke Hearts” which won the 2011 Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize.

Head of English, Roy Chambers, said “The pupils really enjoyed meeting Sita and learning about her life and the ideas and inspiration behind her work. They gained an insight in to what it’s like to be an author and asked lots of interesting questions. At every opportunity the children are actively encouraged to develop their interest in books and authors and events like this really capture their imagination. We are all very grateful to Sita to giving up her time to come and visit us.”
