During the Easter holidays a beautiful wooden circular bench was installed round the trunk of the Big Tree, a magnificent beech in the Packwood grounds.

The bench was a gift from the Lovegrove-Fielden family donated in appreciation of their long and happy association with Packwood and in gratitude for the education their three children received at the school. The eldest, Rowan, attended Packwood from 1994 to 2000. She was joined by her brother Josh in 1996 who left in 2002. Finally their younger brother, Brooke came to the school in 2000 leaving in July 2009 to go on to Eton. Uniquely in Packwood history all three were Head Boy or Head Girl in their final year at the school.

The bench is very popular with the children, affording as it does a superb view of the main games pitch. It also provides a place to sit and chat or a retreat for quiet contemplation.

All at Packwood are extremely grateful to the Lovegrove-Fieldens for their magnificent gift which will be enjoyed by generations of children to come.
