Hill walking at Y Garn

18th November, 2009

Recently a group of us were lucky enough to be taken hill walking in Wales by Mr Rigby.

Our trip to Y Garn in the Ogwen Valley, Snowdonia, was absolutely amazing. It was very tiring but it was definitely worth it. The feeling of the cold wind on our faces, and the amazing views of the big lakes surrounding us made it a great day out. It was the most thrilling hill walking trip that I have ever been on! It was cloudy at the top but the cloud kept blowing away, which meant we could see for miles. We could see Anglesey on one side and on the other a very long valley.

The most strenuous part of the walk was halfway up the hill when all of the steps stopped and we were just walking on loose stones, which sometimes slipped underneath us. This meant we had to be careful with our footing, and we all helped each other to make sure we stayed safe. There were some very steep sections but then some flatter parts which made for easier walking and we came across a lake high up the hill.

All in all it was an amazing trip and all of us who went would like to say thank you very much to Mr Rigby!
