Under 9s come close

On Wednesday 30th September, the Packwood Under 9 football team returned to the Prestfelde Tournament to defend their title. They started off superbly, winning their group in convincing fashion with victories against Prestfelde 'B' (4-0), Abberley Hall (5-0), West House (2-0) and King's Chester (1-0).

In an exciting semi-final, the boys played really well and managed to beat Birchfield 2-0. In the final, they came up against Hallfield who, like Packwood, had not conceded a goal all afternoon. Hallfield got off to an excellent start, storming into a 2-0 lead, but Packwood fought their way back in to the game and their efforts were rewarded with a great goal. The last few minutes saw a relentless onslaught on the Hallfield goal; but to no avail, so this year we had to settle for the silver medals!
