The health and happiness of Packwood children is a primary aim for the dedicated and experienced team of teachers, houseparents and matrons. To that end, a strong team spirit is fostered, as is an appreciation that the entire Packwood community is working towards a successful and rewarding experience for its pupils.
The Head Matron is a qualified nurse, and she leads a team of matrons who are responsible for the health of the children and for looking out for lost socks! We also have an arrangement with the local GP surgery for medical cover.
Each child has a Form Tutor and all members of staff are ready to assist where needed; the matrons and houseparents have particular responsibility for the boarders; and the Headmaster regards the happiness of any child to be a priority.
And, most importantly, the children are encouraged to look out for each other, and to let the staff know if they see another child who needs support.
