Prize-winning art15th March, 2017
Art and CDT are two of the most popular subjects on the school curriculum for many children at Packwood as they make the most of the opportunity to express their creativity and imagination.
This year, some have been able to take part in the first ever Shrewsbury School Art and Design/Technology Competition. The given theme for entries was Organic/Mechanic and Year 7 pupil, Genevieve B, was delighted to learn this week that her inventive piece of work, based on the form of a tree, has won second prize.
Her reward is an invitation to attend a special Winners Workshop to be held at the Art School at Shrewsbury this Friday (17th March). Genevieve will have the chance to work with Shrewsbury School art scholars and teachers throughout the day and the event will culminate in a prize-giving ceremony.
Organisers of the competition said, “The overall standard of the entries has been outstanding… Please pass on our congratulations to [Genevieve], whose piece was chosen for its particular merit.”
