Graduate Assistant

Background

Packwood Haugh is a leading day and boarding prep school for children aged 4 – 13 years. Children leave Packwood at the end of Year 8 and go onto many of the leading public schools across the UK.

The Role

This role is designed to suit a newly qualified or recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching or perhaps further education in due course. It will provide broad, hands-on experience of working in a school.
It is a residential post for one academic year commencing in September 2017.

Specific Responsibilities

Will be a mix of the below, subject to the particular strengths of the individual recruited:

Working with Boarders:
- Supervision of activities in boys dorms
- Evening duties in boys boarding house
- Junior boarders’ activities

Working in the Classroom:
- Classroom assisting
- Small group teaching
- Music/Art/DT support

Coaching Boys Games
Office Duties
Running Clubs/Activities
Attending INSET training


The Line manager for this person is a Deputy Head who will provide guidance and training.

Part Time Girls’ Lacrosse Coach

September 2017

IAPS, Co-educational, 210 pupils, 4-13 

A great opportunity to continue the longstanding success of girls' lacrosse in this energetic prep school, where sport is hugely supported and enjoyed. Historical U13 achievements include several wins at Midlands, North and London tournaments.
The successful candidate will be able to coach lacrosse to girls aged 7-13. This role could be combined with another job e.g. Teaching Assistant subject to the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
A full clean driving licence essential and the ability to drive a minibus an advantage (training can be given). Knowledgeable and enthusiastic applicants please!
