Packwood has a very strong sporting tradition. The whole school plays ‘Games’ every afternoon, and the girls and boys enjoy regular success in local, regional and national tournaments, and each year many represent the county in a variety of sports.

We arrange as many fixtures as possible each term, with the aim that every child will have the opportunity to represent the school in a match.

We are blessed with a wonderful 66-acre site. As well as a large area of grass playing fields, there is a full-size flood-lit Astroturf pitch, a sports hall, a covered swimming pool, a 9 hole golf course, two squash courts, 9 tennis courts (grass, astro and hard), a cross-country riding course, and a fly-fishing lake.

In the winter terms the boys play rugby, soccer and hockey while the girls play hockey, netball and lacrosse.  There is also cross-country running on our own course in the grounds.

In the summer the boys play cricket, the girls play rounders and all take part in tennis, swimming and athletics.

Great emphasis is placed on good sportsmanship, by winning in a sporting manner and losing with grace.
