The health and happiness of Packwood Haugh children is a primary aim for the dedicated and experienced team of teachers, house-parents and matrons. To that end, a strong team spirit is fostered, as is an appreciation that the entire Packwood community is working towards a successful and rewarding experience for its pupils.

Each child has a Personal Tutor and/or a Form Tutor who is responsible for the tutee’s well-being. The Personal Tutor remains with the tutee throughout the last three years at the school.

The resident Head Matron is a qualified nurse, and she leads a team of matrons who are responsible for the health of the children – and for looking out for lost socks! There is also a visiting doctor.

All members of staff are ready to assist where needed; the matrons and house-parents have particular responsibility for the boarders; and the Headmaster considers a matter pertaining to the happiness of any child to be a priority.

And, most importantly, the children are encouraged look out for each other, and to let the staff know if they see another child who needs support.
